 Small time investors worked in coordination to make hedge funds lose alot of money.

The play was Gamestop (GME). The hedge funds had way over played the shorting of the the Gamestop stock. Seeing this investros on a reddit channel and WallStreetBets started buying as many of the shares as they could. As they did this the price increased and this forced the hedge funds to flee their shorts as they were taking massive loses.
