I don't understand why Apple is putting up such a stink about opening up an I-phone. Apple has the source code of the encryption of the I-phone so they should be able to decrypt just that phone. You take the phone to Apple's headquarters in Cupertino CA and in a secure room the techs unlock the phone and download the data. Give the data in an excel or word file to the FBI and destroy the phone. The phone may be evidence but it is evidence against two dead people. Any information gleaned from the data would have to be backed up with other police detective work to make a case against another possible terrorist.
I will say one thing though if Apple wins, the sale of I-Phones in the Middle East will instantly go up as all terrorist will dump their androids for an I-Phone.
