All that is left of our Oiler sitting in the yard after the accident, explosion and inferno on the freeway.
1350 Gallon tank impacted with center divider. Very tall center divider at that point of the freeway.
Puncture hole that fed the diesel fueled fire.
So hot it melted the rims into puddles of aluminum.
Driver got out OK but is in the hospital. Eyewitnesses said one or more of the rear wheels blew apart and the driver with only some control at 65 MPH steered the several ton oiler over into the center divider to stop it. If divider had been lower the truck might have flipped over the divider and the outcome might have been much worse.
