The way I see it....

Our government has been taken over by the Far Right of the Republican side and the Far Left of the Democrat side. Nothing is happening legislatively because of these two factions. The Far Right and Far Left will only vote for things that appease them directly with nothing for the other side.

My question, and maybe I see a light in the tunnel with Trump's recent meeting with middle of the road Republicans and Democrats on tax reform, is are there enough centrist to override the Far Right and the Far Left and actually pass common sense tax reform? How many Far Right are there and how many Far Left are there and is that number more than 50 in the Senate and 218 in the House? If it is than we are screwed but if the number is less and those centrist can come together to put through a plan with everyone getting something but no one getting everything maybe this whole democracy thing has a chance.

Let's hope Trump is the great deal maker he says he is and can bring the centrist to the table and over power the Far Right and Far Left so we can start moving legislation through that benefits the American public and not just the fringe elements.
