I guess it's true once you get on welfare you never get off it and it runs in the family. A Michigan women on welfare assistance won a million dollars in the lottery and took home $500,000 after taxes. She continued to get welfare assistance even though she had plenty of money. This shows how messed up the system is. As soon as she won that kind of money the state/feds should have black flagged her for any more assistance. Her assertion is that since the state didn't cut her off it must be OK for her to continue to get welfare. Even more telling is her mother that says it's not illegal and so it's nobodies business.

I'm all for helping the needy and prior to her win she probably needed the assistance and that's fine but that changed the minute she won.
